One Piece: Has Kaido used his devil fruit awakening power?
In One Piece, devil fruit users can awaken and use this power to increase their own strength.
With his status as a Yonko, one of the 4 kings of the sea, Kaido’s awakening of his devil fruit is not too surprising.
Among the current Four Emperors, Shanks does not use devil fruit while Blackbeard and Big Mom have not yet been confirmed to awaken their devil fruit.
Even Big Mom has never achieved the awakening power of a devil fruit, because if she had it, she would have used it in the fight with Law and Kid.
Additionally, many people believe that Kaido has been using his awakening the entire time and never mentioned it.
Besides, many One Piece readers believe that Kaido does not use his awakening power simply because he believes that he does not need it and can still defeat Luffy.
Luffy and Kaido fought five separate times during the Wano arc and Kaido won the first four battles quite easily.
Luffy is at the peak of his power, if Kaido suddenly releases an upgrade of his, Luffy will have no chance of winning.
The Wano Arc has now been going on for over 100 chapters and author Eiichiro Oda has stated that this is coming to an end in 2022 so it’s hard to see the war between Luffy and Kaido continuing much longer.
